PAL ALL REGIONS, 1 DVD
Making of Floating Point
For the first time, an intimate view of what happens at a John McLaughlin recording session.
Filmed over a period of 5 days, during the making of John's new record "Floating Point", you can see how great musicians work together with spontaneity and vitality. For this “meeting of the minds” John invited some of the most outstanding instrumentalists including Indian vocalist Shankar Mahadevan. Through the interviews of all musicians, you will get to know how they approach John's compositions. In addition, there is an extra audio track with John commenting on the entire recording. This movie lifts the curtain on the making of music today.

PAL ALL REGIONS, 2 DVD
Formed by John McLaughlin in 1971, the Mahavishnu Orchestra pioneered the fusion of jazz elements into rock music while still undeniably retaining the power and muscle of a full on rock band. With McLaughlin as the ever-present, the line-up went through various phases and these two concerts from Montreux showcase the band at distinctively different times of their career, with the seventies show featuring later stars Jean-Luc Ponty and Michael Walden and the eighties concert featuring saxophone maestro Bill Evans.
Visual footage only exists of three tracks from the 1974 show (although this is still over 73 minutes of footage) but the other tracks exist as audio masters and they have been added as bonus material.

ThE GATEWAY TO RHYTHM |
 |
PAL ALL REGIONS, 1 DVD
Konokol is the universal system of mastering rhythm without drums. Guitar legend John McLaughlin, who has advocated this system of learning rhythm for over 30 years, brings it all together with Konokol master Selvaganesh Vinayakram, one of the foremost percussionists from India. Divided into 6 chapters, the student moves from basic understanding of rhythm into the wonderful world of improvisation. Exercises are explained and demonstrated followed by improvisations which include all the exercise material of that particular chapter. You will learn through this course how to improvise rhythmically and how this system can help in your compositions. Following this, John McLaughlin explains and demonstrates on the guitar the benefit Konokol has had on his improvisations, and its usefulness in his compositions over the past 30 years.

PAL ALL REGIONS, 3 DVD
It became clear to me some years ago that the real art of teaching lies in the way of showing with detailed clarity the way the teacher accomplishes what he does. The student can then adopt the various techniques he has understood and progressively apply them to his own instrument. This is the philosophy I have adopted in this DVD, and it is for this reason entitled: "THIS IS THE WAY I DO IT".
